CSSC makes another key leadership change
CSSC has promoted chief accountant Jia Haiying to deputy party secretary and director
This marks the latest in a series of leadership changes at CSSC, following a reported anti-corruption crackdown and management restructuring
CHINA State Shipbuilding Corp has made another key leadership change with the promotion of Jia Haiying to deputy party secretary and director, succeeding Du Gang.
This follows a series of leadership shifts at the state-owned shipbuilding giant amid management restructuring and a reported anti-corruption crackdown.
Jia was previously CSSC’s chief accountant and a member of its party committee, which acts as the de facto decision-making body of China’s state-owned enterprises.
Her predecessor Du has not made any public appearances for several months, with unconfirmed media reports suggesting he was taken away by party discipline enforcers late last year.
With this change, the leadership of CSSC now consists of eight members led by chairman Xu Peng.
Xu, formerly head of state-owned equipment manufacturing giant China First Heavy Industries, was appointed in December to replace Wen Gang, who was also reportedly implicated in an anti-graft investigation.
Since then, CSSC has undergone a string of leadership changes, including the appointments of a new chairman, a new president as well as the promotion of Jia.
Meanwhile, CSSC’s two flagship listed shipbuilding units, CSSC Holdings and CSIC Ltd, are in the process of merging to consolidate their assets, although the deal has faced opposition from some retail investors.
